Partnerships and sponsorships
World Train Map is looking for partnerships and sponsorships. We are open to many different ideas.
Why we are asking
World Train Map is free, carries no advertising and is made by one person. Keeping it running costs money, and making it better costs more. We are looking for partners and sponsors to help fund that work, and we say so plainly: your support goes into the map. What it pays for:
- Better lines: every route drawn on the track it really runs on, checked against OpenStreetMap and the operator’s own timetable.
- A wider map: more routes and more countries, above all outside Europe.
- New editions and new features.
- The hosting and the data work that keep the map running.
Who you reach
The map went online in July 2026. Since then it has been on the front page of Hacker News, where one post brought more than eleven thousand people in a single day, and it has been written about by Germany’s largest newspaper and by the tech and map press:
Its readers are people who love trains: travellers planning a rail journey, railway enthusiasts, teachers and students, and people who simply like to wander across a map. They come from all over the world and read it in English, German and Japanese.
Built around what you need
There is no standard package. Tell us what the partnership has to achieve and we shape it around that. It can include:
- Your name at the top of every page, beside the World Train Map mark.
- A line at the foot of every page, linked to your site.
- A credit in the map’s own panel, in view for every visitor.
- A block on the About page.
- Your own railway, route or region, presented the way you would present it.
- A monthly readership report from the site’s own analytics.
- Exclusivity, if you want it.
Big or small, one-off or long-term, we are flexible.
