- Dolenjska Line
The Lower Carniola line south east out of Ljubljana, over the Grosuplje watershed and down the Krka valley to Novo mesto, opened in 1894 and still the fastest way there.
- Kočevje Line
Built in 1893 for the Kocevje coal and the forests behind it, closed to passengers for half a century, and carrying them again since 2021 through Ribnica and the Slovene karst.
- Ormož–Čakovec Line
Twenty kilometres from Ormož over the Drava into Croatia, on the railway opened on 24 April 1860 to join Budapest to the Vienna to Trieste main line by way of Nagykanizsa and Pragersko.
