Launched in 2024 on the 1906 colonial mainline, it eases over the Hai Van Pass with clouds above and fishing fleets directly below the rails.
Vietnam Railways relaunched the Hue–Da Nang leg of the 1906 colonial mainline as a heritage service in March 2024, with saloon cars, live music and a ten-minute photo stop at Lang Co. The reward is the crawl over the Hai Van Pass, where the track clings to jungle cliffs between the clouds and the surf. It links the imperial capital with Da Nang in under three hours.
