The Poppy Line: the last stretch of the Midland & Great Northern in Norfolk, carrying passengers again since July 1975, from the seaside at Sheringham past Weybourne to Holt.
The Midland and Great Northern opened its line from Melton Constable through Holt to Cromer in two stages, in 1884 and 1887, and Weybourne gained its station in 1903. The Beeching report ended passenger trains between Melton Constable and Sheringham in 1964, and preservationists kept the stretch from Sheringham to Holt. Trains leave Sheringham close to the main-line station, run near the coast to Weybourne and then turn inland across Kelling Heath to Holt.
