Turin–Genoa railway

Five years of tunnelling under the Apennines opened this line in December 1853, and the 3.3 km Giovi tunnel at its summit was then the longest in the world.

One of the oldest main lines in Italy, opened in 1853 and 169 km long, joining Turin to the port of Genoa. Trenitalia’s Regionale Veloce covers it in about 1 h 41.
