Dresden–Görlitz railway

Saxony end to end through Bautzen and the Lusatian hills, opened in stages from November 1845 and formally complete on 1 September 1847.

One of the oldest railways in Germany (the first section opened in 1845) and still a two-track main line, built by the Saxon-Silesian Railway Company across Upper Lusatia. It runs from Dresden by Bischofswerda, Bautzen and Löbau to Görlitz, and forms part of the route on to Wrocław and of Pan-European Transport Corridor III.
