- Eleven railways joined the atlas, 923 km of line of which about 528 km had never been drawn here. In North Zealand the Hornbæk line, the Gribskovbanen’s western arm to Tisvildeleje and the Østbanen across Stevns; in the Netherlands the Utrecht–Rotterdam railway and the West Friesland line north through Purmerend; Santhià to Biella in Piedmont; the Chiltern branch from Hatton into Stratford-upon-Avon; the IC-24 from Charleroi to Leuven; the Lower Silesian sprinter from Forst over the Neisse to Wrocław; the EuroCity Via Regia from Leipzig to Wrocław; and LTG Link from Šilutė along the edge of the Nemunas delta to Kretinga. 2026-09-20
- Each of the eleven is drawn from its own OpenStreetMap relation rather than sketched, checked against a scheduled train on the planner, and measured against the rail graph afterwards: all eleven sit on real track for their whole length, three metres from it at the median. Each carries an opening year read from the line’s own article in its own language, and where a route is several railways end to end the year is the one the last of them opened, because that is when the journey first became possible. 2026-09-20
- One candidate was dropped on the last check rather than added: a Croatian regional from Virovitica through Daruvar to Banova Jaruga, which the planner answered but which is in fact closed for rebuilding, with buses in place of trains until December. A timetable answer is not the same as a train, and the rule stands that operation is verified before a line goes on the map. 2026-09-20
