- Every page now opens with a strip for a partner, from edge to edge: the photograph of Bergensbanen under a dark tint, the words Your brand here, and a sentence saying what it is for. World Train Map is free and independent, and we are looking for one partner to support it, with full exclusivity: their brand alone, on every page and on the map. A line under it says the advertising is never invasive and that each partnership is tailored with care to both the readers’ experience and the partner’s wishes. On the photograph, Learn more leads to Flightmussy Studio, and beside it, at the same size, the Buy me a coffee sign and its cat are there for anyone who would like to support the creator; a press anywhere else on the strip opens the studio too. The strip stands outside each page’s own content, so search engines read the pages as before, and the photograph names its author. It is not on the privacy notice. Movie Scene Map’s pages carry the same strip. 2026-10-12
- The cat with the Buy me a coffee sign no longer flies across the foot of the map. It stands on the strip at the top of every page instead, and the foot of every page still links the same Buy Me a Coffee page. The entries of 2 and 6 October describe the banner that is now gone, and the privacy notice says where the sign is now. 2026-10-12
- The welcome card on the map is smaller and comes on every visit to the map, once, a minute in, for ten seconds, with a blue line along its foot that runs down with them. On a computer it stands in the map’s top right corner, level with the panel, and moves left of a route’s card when one is pinned; on a phone it lies across the foot of the screen, and while a route, the panel or the search is open there it steps aside, coming back for the rest of its seconds when that is closed. Nothing done with the map takes it away before its time: the X and the Escape key close it at once, and a press on the card keeps it until it is closed. Its photograph no longer moves as it arrives. Until today it came only when you arrived from another site or switched language, ninety seconds in, and gave way as soon as you used the map; the entries of 3 and 10 October describe that card. Movie Scene Map’s card changed the same way. 2026-10-12
